The Picture above is one of a russian dwarf hamster named Misha. He was discovered by Chris Columbus in a place San Salvador. Now one would wonder how it was that we have this "Russian Connection" and that is a very good question that begins this novel called and the story of this 513 year old hamster. Get Ready. mbd
The Past
In a place called Yorkdale, many small animals dwelled in the underworld. Most were locked up and fed a dried version of their natural wild diet. Decades before, a rat name Rover was kept as a pet by a Kung Fu Master Joe. From the safety of his cage, the rat watch and learnt his every move. The underworld sense the growing power of Joe and sent out 10 of its most dangerous soldiers to capture and imprison Joe in a distant deseart land. They came in the middle of the night and sprayed some sleeping gas into the Joe's place through an open window. In the morning Rover awoke to a room turned upside down by a big struggle. Tables and chairs were overturned, everywhere. Some of Joe's medals and awards were missing. So was Joe. The case Rover was in was lying sideways and the door was knocked opened. Years later he would meet a turtle call Michaelangelo to whom he would past the secrets lessons of Joe's Kung Fu.

Misha and the Underworld
The person(s) responsible for this kept them this way until they were rescued from their plight by patrons taking pity on their states in exchange for cash. In this underground cave a few of the animals were free to roam as they pleased. The Hamsters tended to be females as they got along well with other females. The males would fight in the closed confines of their captors.One day Michael and his Uncle Ray found themselves in region of Yorkdale. At the end of a Yorkdale they came across steps leading to the an opening darkness of cave hidden behind a desnse thicket of bushes. They had found the "rumoured" location of the underground complex by accident. Waiting in the safety of the darkness that was 16 feet into the cave, they sat and waited. In about 1/2 hour voices cuold be heard and they saw a person holding a large silvered key followed by some people they recognized as the Patrons of Spadina. These people were instructed to grab a brown robe near the entrace and to cover their faces with the hood. Ray and Michael hid behind a large rock and when the last person past, they quietly walked back to the pile of robes and disguised themselves as patrons.
Unlike hamsters in the wild, a bright flourescent light hung over the room where the little critters slept. Some could not. One named Sammy constantly ran circles about around the edges cell at a frentic pace. Shooting across the middle space and then expertly carving a turn, and then another, to avoid the wall. He needed to get out. Ray and Michael felt for the little guy. The only way be could be saved is if their friend Mel could find it in her heart to welcome Sammy home as her own. Mel was constantly busy with her own dreams and taking a home a ophaned animal was just not in the books that day. Sadly Michael and Ray eluded detection and made it out of the underground that day. But they would remember Sammy and her plight and come across Misha in a place called Mount Pleaseant. Little did they know how determined they would be and how the this outcome would come to alter the one with Misha.
